Dr Sapna Govindan is an Instructor in Anesthesia at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. She did her initial medical training in Kerala, India, where she completed MBBS (Government Medical College, Calicut) followed by MD in Anesthesiology (Government Medical College, Trivandrum). For the next three years, she worked at a multispecialty hospital in Kerala (MIMS, Calicut), consolidating her experience in Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. She moved to the United States for personal reasons in 2009. In the next few years, she completed her residency in Anesthesiology from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School where she currently works as staff anesthesiologist. She continues to train in and perform the Indian Classical Dance form, Mohiniyattam.
